School hours are 8:55 a.m. to 3:55 p.m. Doors open at 8:35 a.m.

If you know your child will be late arriving at school, or absent for the day, please let us know as soon as possible.

Call 913-780-7570 or email the attendance office

Please let us know the following information:

  • The child's name and the teacher's name
  • Date the absence will occur
  • Reason for absence
  • If your child will be late, do they need a school lunch? Which option?
  • Approximately when will your child arrive at school?
  • If your child will miss the entire day, do you want homework held in the office so you can pick it up or do you want it sent home with another child?

Visitor Policy

All visitors must check into the office and receive a visitor sticker before going to other parts of the building. This includes walking students into the building on arrival. Parents are encouraged to walk students to class in the first week of school and then students can walk independently to their classrooms for the remainder of the year. You must ring the doorbell and show your ID to enter the building even if we know who you are. This is district policy and for the safety of the students.

Arrival and Dismissal

Student safety is the #1 priority. Respect the direction of staff members on duty. All staff support a safe and orderly dismissal and are unavailable to have unscheduled conferences during dismissal time. School begins at 8:55 a.m. Doors are unlocked at 8:35 a.m. as per district safety and security protocols. Please make sure your child knows how he or she is getting home from school each day. Call the office by 3:00 p.m. if a change is necessary.
